Intention Setting > Goal Setting.🕵🏼♂️ 🧐
Entering the New Year, there’s all the buzz with setting goals, intentions, blah blah blah. It’s overwhelming but the second you simplify it, it can create a framework for how we accomplish what we want to do.
Goals vs. Intentions - Goals can leave us feeling like we are lacking in something. Sometimes, they are too far-fetched that our brain gets in the way and tells us we can’t. Intentions on the other hand can be one word or phrase that guides us to the place that we want to be. They provide us with a feeling of how we can and will achieve our day-to-day work. Ultimately, allowing us to push past the patterns of monotony and move into our best selves.
Example: The word consistency. We can use the word consistency as a framework for going about our job on a daily basis. Achieving consistency looks like prospecting over 85 accounts per week, calling 100 people per day, and sending out 50 emails to 50 new prospects every day. Over time, this consistency will get us results. If you were to set a goal of prospecting over 85 accounts per week, calling 100 people per day, and sending out 50 emails to 50 new prospects every day, it would almost seem crippling. If you were a few off, you would leave the weak feeling incomplete and unaccomplished. Through intention setting, your idealized goals will be met without self doubt and pressure. You also may end up achieving more than you would have if you were to set a numerical goal.
So, challenge yourself to this. Set an intention for each week moving forward. Maybe it’s consistency, consistency in effort to achieve the best results. Maybe it’s persistence, persistence on the phones to book some demos. Or even accountability, accountability in not having overdue tasks as each day ends. So on and so forth.
Keep it simple and try it out.
Systems for Intentions 🥷🏼
"We do not rise to the level of our goals, we fall to the level of our systems"-James Clear
Skylar walked us through changing our perspective on goals, and transforming them into intentions that are much closer to reality. We can break these down into micro achievements that become habitual and systematic, laying the groundwork for success.For example, prospecting 25 accounts takes a decent chunk of time eh? But prospecting 5 accounts is a breeze, it's almost impossible to not complete in 15 minutes. That's our micro achievement, 5 accounts. Now we just have to do it 4 more times to hit our goal of 25. Breaking it down into small segments makes it systematic, consistent, and most importantly develops a habit. Calling this the two minute rule, James Clear uses this method to build habits. Take a listen to his perspective!

Tip of the Week 📝 🤓 📞
{2023 talk track}
"What are your growth plans for 2023"
Seems oversimplified? Intentionally so. It opens up the room to conversation, letting the prospect talk. Following up..."Do you have the infrastructure to support those plans?"A genuine and though provoking question that will display the prospects pain points; IE your window of opportunity.
