The Quota Killers

Issue #12

Hello fellow Quota Killers...

Welcome to issue #12! This week we discuss abundance and scarcity, the cornerstone morals of the most, and least successful salespeople. We also feature Gong.io's take on realistic forecasting, a skill the only the best utilize.

Enjoy 🥊

Abundance vs Scarcity 🔑

#1 Objection: “We aren’t growing right now in response to the economy.”

Scarcity Mindset: Ugh. Everyone keeps saying that. It’s not even worth calling people because that’s the only response I am getting.

Abundance Mindset: Great. I am glad I was able to get a response from my prospect. I will make a reminder to reach out to them in 6 months when the outcome of the economy seems a bit more predictable. At least I know I have the right phone number!

#2 Situation: Very low pick-up rate on the phones for the day.

Scarcity Mindset: I should just give up calling people today because no one is answering me. Maybe they blocked my number or it’s showing up as spam?

Abundance Mindset: I am so much closer to someone picking up the phone and I am ready to give my awesome pitch! I will take an hour off and call again at the end of the day for the east coast and lunch for the west coast. People usually tend to pick up more at that time anyway.

#3 Outcome: Someone yelled at me on the phone today and told me to never call them again.

Scarcity Mindset: I can’t handle that anymore. I need to take some time away from the phones to get my head on straight. I hate being a human punching bag. Ugh!

Abundance Mindset: Oh well. I am going to pick up the phone and call again. It’s nothing personal to me. I am sure they are just going through something in their life and they needed to get some emotions off of their chest.
