Psychology of selling 🕵🏼♂️ 🧐
{A deep dive with Skylar backed up by a juicy podcast}
“Business problems are personal problems in disguise.”
Ever been on a call and someone decided to rant to you for 5 minutes without even asking? The nature of giving a cold call can provoke a lot of things. When entering the call, you are sitting in your own seat looking to sell them our product. They pick up, they yell and scream, they hang up, or they stay on the line and chat. It’s always a bit confusing being on the receiving end when a prospect acts out this way.
This podcast dives into the importance of stepping into the prospect’s shoes and emotions in order to win them over. Emotions provoke behaviors. The emotional impact is important to understand in order to identify the current behaviors of the prospect and invoke thoughts into their head as to WHY something must change. Thus, identifying future CHANGED behaviors.
The question now is how…?
Active Listening: Make the prospect feel heard. Humans are simple creatures that just want to be seen and understood. Listen to their problems and make them feel safe.
Impactful questions: An example… Can you help me understand a little bit more about your current payroll solution vs. What is your current payroll solution?
In light of the holiday season, lead the next few weeks of calling with empathy. Step into the prospect’s shoes. Emotions will be heightened and we might be getting the brunt of the good/bad/ugly.

Principles + Habits = Success 🧠 🤯
{Grant's reflection of 1 year @ Deel}
As of November 15, I will have officially been an SDR @ Deel for a year. To say the least, it's been a bit of a roller coaster.
In Q1 I achieved a whopping quota attainment of 41.38%...half a year later I finished Q3 at 137% and even knocked back a 322% closed won attainment. Thankfully there were managers, teammates, and processes that allowed me to turn around my performance as such. (My advice, use them.)
Reflecting, I noticed there was an underlying emphasis on principles and habits that were the building blocks of success. This led me to two books that became the most influential pieces of media I have absorbed this year. Thankfully I found summaries and youtube videos for y'all ;) If you take away anything from this, watch these videos and purchase these books. Please 💪

Watch this, re watch this, read the book, and re watch this. Who is Ray Dalio? Well, he started the worlds largest hedge fund..

Struggling to hit your base line goals or develop habits? This will be an absolute game changer professionally and personally.
Tip of the Week 📝 🤓
{Be the Creator, not the Victim}
A Victim mindset keeps people from seeing and acting on choices that could help them achieve the life demos*** they want. A Creator mindset causes people to see multiple options, choose wisely among them, and take effective actions to achieve the life demos*** they want. The holiday season comes with a lot of objections.
Easily, we could play the “woe is me” card and think that people aren’t going to book demos. No need to be the victim here. Add urgency, be optimistic, and act efficiently. Everything will work out just the way you want it to.
